What’s not to like about Nanban?

As a forever-lover of all things Japanese, a closet Master Chef addict and an occasional book designer – what’s not to love about the design of the British Master Chef’s series 7 winner’s (Tim Anderson) book? Very tasty indeed. I especially love the exposed glue binding for its visual reference to a sushi mat and for allowing the book to lie flat, as well as the considered, vertical layout and noodle-like script style of the cover title, subtly referencing Japanese characters. Very nice work considerately designed by Charlotte Heal and found on one of my favourite blogs It’s Nice That.
