Now this… is a brand

pm3 has major design envy. Pentagram (a collective of designers in New York and London) have just designed this incredibly strong and striking brand for a leading residential real estate brokerage firm in New York. To me, it ticks all the boxes of excellent design; strong, simple, relevant and incredibly versatile.

The logo is a “reimagined H” – the initial of the clients name – and stands strongly as a static icon but also transforms effortlessly into a multidimensional, animated graphic, with a massive range of flexibility for various brand applications and uses. For example, when duplicated and placed collectively, the icon creates a wall paper pattern, while singularly it can be used as a window for photographs or even as a directional arrow.

Like I said; it ticks all the boxes.

What the Shuck?

Who the shuck is Shuck? Shuck Oyster Purveyors is a new company that is dedicated to worshiping the Australian oyster in all its glorious forms. Whether it’s a Pambula Angasi, a Bruny Island Pacific or a Wooli Sydney Rock they pay homage to the individuality of each oyster based on its unique ‘merroir’*.

Below is the recently signed off logo design which, by the way needed to look feminine, include the silvers, greys, blues and greens of Australia’s rivers, bays and estuaries, and it also needed to reference the waters and the land/seascapes where oysters are grown.

*An oyster’s ‘merroir’ is the marine equivalent of a wine’s ‘terroir’ and describes the subtle differences in flavour based on where the oyster has been grown.
